Sending limits
The daily cap, list standards and bounce and complaint thresholds every InboxesNow inbox must stay within, and what happens when they are crossed.

1Daily sending cap
Hard limit: 20 campaign emails per inbox per calendar day. First emails and follow-ups count together. Warm-up traffic does not count.
Recommended maximum: 15 per inbox a day. That is what the pricing planner assumes, and it is 45 a day for a domain of 3 inboxes. Add domains to send more; do not push each inbox harder.
First week: no more than 10 per inbox a day. Ramp up gradually from there while you watch bounces and complaints.
2List standards
- Verify every address with an email verification service within 30 days before you first send to it.
- Never send to purchased, rented, scraped or harvested lists, whether or not that is lawful where you are.
- Have a lawful basis to contact everyone you email, and honour opt-out and unsubscribe requests within 2 business days.
- Include a working unsubscribe method and a valid postal address in every commercial email.
- Send under the real name of a person or business you are entitled to represent. You can change an inbox’s display name to do this.
3Bounce and complaint thresholds
Hard bounces: below 3% over any rolling 7-day period. A hard bounce means the address does not exist, which is a list problem: verifying addresses first keeps this low.
Spam complaints: below 0.1% over any rolling 7-day period, as reported by Google, and never 0.3%. These are the rates Google’s own sender guidelines use, and the rate at which Google starts filtering a domain’s mail. See Postmaster Tools in the glossary.
These limits are maximums, not targets. We may lower them for an account whose sending puts our domains or other customers at risk, and we will tell you if we do.
4What happens when a limit is crossed
- First time over a threshold. We usually suspend only the affected inboxes and tell you what to fix. We may restore them once we are satisfied the problem is fixed; whether to restore is our decision.
- Repeated breaches, prohibited sending, or changing an inbox’s admin settings. We may end your account without notice. You lose access to every inbox, and no refund or credit is due for any unused period.
- Google suspends an inbox because of your sending. We do not replace it or refund you. Google suspends at its own discretion and we cannot reverse it.
- Google suspends an inbox within 14 days of purchase and we find no breach. We replace it with a comparable inbox at no charge. A replacement is not a refund.
If a payment fails and cannot be collected after retries, the affected inboxes are suspended too, as the terms describe.
5New accounts
For the first 30 days after an account is created it may hold no more than 5 domains (15 inboxes). The limit lifts once the account’s sending has stayed within these limits for those 30 days. We may also ask about your business, what you sell, who you email and where your lists come from, before or after you buy, and may refuse or cancel an order if we are not satisfied.
6How we check
We remain the administrator of every Google Workspace account and domain we provide, during and after release, and we monitor sending volume, bounces, spam complaints, authentication results and account notices from Google for every inbox. We do not read the content of your emails except where needed to investigate suspected misuse or where the law requires it.
7Where this sits in the terms
This page restates, in plain words, what you agree to in the terms of service: the limits in Section 6, Acceptable use; what you may change on a released domain in Section 7; Google suspensions in Section 8; and suspension and termination in Section 15. Refunds after a suspension are covered in the refund policy. If the two ever differ, the terms apply.
